The hard work and waiting has finally paid off! While the weather didn’t cooperate with our original plans to have the new head office open by October, we have finally moved in and are now officially open for business! Actually, we moved in just before the New Year, but like any big move, we’ve taken a while to unpack, settle in, and get around to “dusting off” the website.

2011 was a record year for ASV Sales & Service and our sister company CEG Distributions, with more customers than ever opting to purchase one of our industry leading pieces of Terex Compact Equipment! Our customers who bought Terex Posi-Track Loaders helped make it the number one selling compact track loader in Australia once again in 2011. With the launch of Terex’s new line of Terex skid steer loaders, many customers who prefer the lower cost option of a wheeled skidsteer over a compact track loader discovered the incredible value and performance of the Terex skidsteer line. While they didn’t pioneer the market, Terex clearly did its homework before launching this line, and the result was a complete line of skid steer loaders that are “built from the ground up”, with class leading specs and durability engineered in.

Our new head office was planned to accommodate our rapid growth in sales and the expanded products which have come available, while allowing for additional forthcoming equipment lines. The new facility is conveniently located at the end of the F3 Sydney to Newcastle Freeway, just a short 20 minute drive from the Newcastle CBD. The physical address is 13 Babilla Cl Beresfield, with access to the front entrance off of John Renshaw Dr. Our Central Coast dealership will remain open in Wyong in order to continue to serve our customers on the Central Coast and Sydney. Our administrative call centre for all of NSW will be run from the new headquarters, so please dial 1300 TEREX1 (1300 837 391), or (02) 4014 8000 for any parts, service or machine sales enquiries in the future.

The new facility is also home to CEG Distributions, the National Distributor for Terex Compact Equipment, and with expanded warehousing and distribution capabilities, our capacity to provide customers with the best support in the compact equipment business has never been better. With additional space under roof, more service bays, and easier access with direct highway frontage, we are even more committed to having the equipment you want, and the parts you need to keep your gear running at peak performance.

We look forward to continuing to provide the best equipment and the highest levels of service to our existing and future customers, because at ASV Sales & Service, Compact Equipment is our business. If you are in the area, please feel free to stop in for a coffee, or to see the latest Terex Compact Equipment!

These are very exciting times for ASV Sales & Service! We are proud to be moving to a new and larger location, open to the public on 16th December.

ASV Sales & Service was founded in 2008, with its owners having been involved in the distribution of ASV Posi-Track loaders since the product’s introduction in Australia almost 15 years ago. In a short 3 years, ASV Sales & Service has grown from a single location on the Central Coast of NSW, to three branches around the country, serving customers across most of NSW, all of WA, and part of QLD.

The popularity of the Terex Posi-Track loader continues to grow as people experience its clear advantages over other compact track loaders in the market. In addition, Terex has introduced a complete line of skidsteer loaders to compliment its well established line of Posi-Tracks in the last year, so our product line is rapidly expanding. ASV Sales & Service is proud to continue to offer the most innovative products and the best service in the compact construction equipment industry, and we will be introducing additional product lines in the future.

With this rapid expansion, we have begun to outgrow the capacity of our head office on the Central Coast. In order to better meet the needs of our current and future customer base, we are excited to announce the addition of a new location in Newcastle! This new facility is being built to specifically meet our business needs, and will serve as our new corporate head office and our largest sales and service facility!

The new site is located in Beresfield, at 13 Babilla Cl, with easy access from Weakleys Drive and John Renshaw Drive, just off the end of the F3 Sydney-Newcastle Freeway. This location will allow us to better serve our customers in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, and will serve as the national parts distribution facility. The new building is roughly twice the size of our current head office, with 6 service bays, expanded parts warehousing capabilities, and under cover storage for machines. The attached office building features an “automotive style” showroom, a training facility, and two levels of offices. Our Wyong facility will remain open to serve our Central Coast and Sydney customers.

With our full line of machines in stock in Newcastle, feel free to stop by to have a look at the latest Terex Compact Equipment!

Terex’s well established Posi-Track loader line is the number one selling compact track loader in Australia, and the PT Series 3 is the latest evolution of the product. With the most advanced undercarriage in the industry, genuine Terex Posi-Track loaders are well known for their go-anywhere performance and their best in class comfort. The new PT Series 3 upgrades take the machines to the next level, with numerous changes to the operator station as well as enhancements to serviceability, and a substantial improvement to the undercarriage.

One of the most substantial changes to the new PT Series 3, all machines (with the exception of the PT-30 and PT-70) have adopted a unique open drive sprocket design. Terex has eliminated the outboard bearing and sprocket housing found on previous undercarriages, and replaced it with a planetary gear powered drive motor. The result is an undercarriage with a much more open design, allowing material to easily shed from the sprocket area for better sprocket and roller longevity, along with easier access for routine cleaning and maintenance. In addition, the new drive system provides higher torque and better tractive effort, for greater pushing power. On top of the undercarriage upgrades, all PT Series 3 machines feature redesigned dashes with improved cab gauges, as well as a new headlight design. They also feature locking steel hoods, battery isolator switches, and improved serviceability. Series 3 Posi-Track loaders are only available from your factory authorised Terex-ASV dealer in Australia, and each one comes standard with a 12 month full machine warranty, and a 3 year/6,000 hour extended powertrain warranty.

Let’s face it, clearing brush and regrowth can be hard work, and even harder on your equipment. So why are you doing it with a skid steer that wasn’t built to handle the job? Maybe you need a machine that was designed to work where you do – in the trees. The Terex PT-100G Forestry is a purpose-built Posi-Track loader specifically developed to handle the rigours of land clearing.

New to Australia for 2011, the PT-100G Forestry builds upon the success of its predecessor, the Terex/ASV PT-100, and features a complete machine and undercarriage redesign. It is powered by a class leading 100hp Perkins diesel engine, driving a powerful high-flow system capable of an incredible 170lpm hydraulic flow at 3800psi. The PT-100G Forestry also delivers greater tractive effort, improved operator comfort and lower operating costs when compared to previous models.

The PT-100G Forestry, along with the Terex mulcher and Davco “Terminator” slasher, is the ideal machine for selective land clearing, vegetation management, right-of-way mowing and firebreak cutting for bushfire prevention. It was designed and built with these applications in mind and as such, it is right at home in the tough bushland environment of Australia. The cab of the PT-100G Forestry is fully sealed and pressurised, allowing the operating environment to stay clean and dust free, even when working in harsh, dry climates. A standard reversible fan assists its state-of-the art cooling package and reduces the need for frequent oil cooler cleaning, allowing the PT-100G Forestry to reliably work in extreme ambient temperatures forextended intervals.

The rugged new PT-100G Forestry was built with operator safety in mind, offering an impressive set of standard integrated protection features, including the only ROPS cabin in the skid steer industry that meets level two FOPS as well as forestry machine FOPS standards (ISO 3449 and ISO 8083). It also includes a complete forestry guarding package that consists of a heavy-duty polycarbonate door, a full rear brush guard, fuel tank and air con guards, rear limb risers and a screened engine air pre-cleaner. Reinforced steel belly-pans have a convenient hinged design, allowing the operator to periodically clean out the belly of the machine and remove any material build-up. The forestry guarding package and rear door can be folded entirely open in seconds, giving complete access to the engine bay and cooling package for unsurpassed accessibility.

The Terex mulcher was designed specifically to suit the PT-100G Forestry and its incredible hydraulic performance. It is capable of tackling a wide range of brush and free standing trees, with a recommended working based diameter of up to 150mm-200mm hardwood (and intermittently larger), producing a fine finished mulch that can be left on site. With a spiral toothed design and fixed carbide hammers, the Terex mulcher is designed to put a single tooth in contact with the material at a time, delivering greater force per impact and a smoother cut with less vibration. A dual displacement drive motor powers a precision balanced heavy-duty drum, allowing faster recovery speed when the going gets tough.

Are you looking to upgrade your old rubber tyred skid steer loader, but you’re not sure what to buy? You’re probably thinking you’ve seen the whole range of makes and models available out there at one time or another, and heard both good and bad about each and every one of them. Feeling confused? Maybe. Want to see something new and a little different? Probably. Well here it is in black and white, quite literally.

No they are not black and white photos; thismonth EERM tested the all new Terex TSR-60, the 60hp radial lift variant of Terex’s new line of rubber tyred skid steer loaders. Released in Australia this year, they complement Terex’s already wellestablished range of rubber track machines. The rubber tyred product line features eight models, ranging from 50hp to 83hp with or without optional vertical lift, ranging in weight from just under 3 ton, to just under four. The “Terex” brand may not have a long association with skid steer loaders, but then again, when they bought the controlling share of ASV Posi-Track in 2008, they bought with it a wealth of knowledge and depth of experience
difficult to put a price on. The full Terex skid steer product line, including the ever evolving “Posi-Track” is built in the USA, and distributed in Australia by ASV Sales & Service in conjunction with a comprehensive dealer network.

On a recent rainy autumn day, we were hosted by Bris-Vegas Machinery and Crystal Waters Nursery when we put the TSR-60 through its paces. Tipping the scales at 2939kg and producing 44.7kW (or 60hp in the old money) via an interim tier 4 compliant, 2.2 litre turbo-charged four cylinder Perkins diesel, Terex/ASV are quietly confident that the TSR-60 has all the makings of a best seller. The TSR-60 has an operating capacity of 680kg, and a tipping clearance of 2921mm to the bucket pivot pin, making it well suited to load most 10m tippers quickly and efficiently. There is also an optional two-speed hydrostatic drive system enabling the machine to propel itself at speeds of up to 19.3km/hr, or marginally under 12km/hr without. Although I am told the two-speed system is capable of being engaged “on the fly”, it comes in just a little bit harsh at high rpm for my liking and could pose a problem with driveline reliability down the track. That said, Terex provides peace of mind with standard 36-month extended powertrain coverage, and claims to be one of the only manufacturers that authorises over-the-tyre track usage without warranty limitations.

Continued Here…

Geoblade, when accuracy counts. Single plane, dual grade, GPS compatible, from bulk fill to final trim, the Geoblade is designed to shift and level ground at various dimensions.

The Geoblade is able to be fitted to either a skid steer, or to be tractor drawn.

The Geoblade is easy to use and comes complete with either laser or GPS system controls. The laser controlled Geoblade operating system ensures a greater level of productivity over any other blade system as it requires minimal maintenance and is much more accurate in terms of finishing operation when compared to any other products in the market.

All the blades are designed according to a basic layout which may be adapted to meet all working and site requirements be it topsoil, earth, gravel or sand.

he Geoblade operation is simple. The desired level is set on the transmitter, having either one or two slopes. The automatic control system receives the data, and the Geoblade copies the plan set on the transmitter onto the ground. All the operator has to do is drive the machine on the site to be leveled, confident there will be no mistakes of under or overcutting the site levels.

The blade’s penetration can be altered by use of the tool circuit on the machine so that the correct angle can be used in relation to the hardness of the soil condition at hand. Furthermore, the lateral and lower wings may be adjusted to the most suitably required incidence angle. In addition, the working width of the blade can be adjusted in a few minutes by adding extensions to the blade that are completely interchangeable according to the horsepower of the skid steer.

An electro-hydraulic modular system with proportional valve control assures higher accuracy and stability. Auxiliary electric controls on a push button panel in the cab are standard. The power source can come from the skid steer’s hydraulics, or PTO on your tractor. These are all standard features on the Geoblade.

Optional on the Geoblade is a hydralic angle left and right to control your placement of material. The Geobladewill fit most skid steers and is suitable for machines from 50 to 100 HP, as all the laser controls and tiltmechanisms are mounted on the blade allowing the blade to go from machine to machine. Also available is a1500mm tow behind that is suitable for 30 to 50 HP machines.

Geoblades have been manufactured for the last 30 years and they offer a large range of options to meet all customer requirements in all types of operations and conditions. Practical experience in the field shows that the Geoblade is the most economical, accurate, and fastest system for leveling all kinds of materials. Geoblade—when accuracy counts, single plane, dual grade, GPS compatible… From bulk fill, to final trim, if you want the best, you need a Geoblade.
